UPDATED: TMZ reports that Jackson is dead.
PREVIOUSLY: KTLA News is reporting that two hours ago, Michael Jackson was taken to UCLA Medical Hospital after a 911 call indicated that he was not breathing and had suffered cardiac arrest. More information to come, but for now, the full news story after the jump:
LOS ANGELES — Pop star Michael Jackson has been taken to UCLA Medical Center by ambulance suffering from cardiac arrest, fire officials confirm.
Los Angeles Fire Department Captain Steve Ruda said paramedics responded to a 911 call at Jackson’s home around 12:26 p.m. He was not breathing when they arrived. The paramedics performed CPR and took him to UCLA Medical Center, Ruda says.
It’s unclear what he was being treated for or what his current condition may be.

Holy Shit!
Posted 25 Jun 2009, 2:55 PM
A shocking news.
Posted 25 Jun 2009, 2:57 PM
This is a terrible day.
Posted 25 Jun 2009, 3:01 PM
I'm feeling incredibly old today at 51.
Posted 25 Jun 2009, 3:06 PM
karma!
Posted 25 Jun 2009, 3:09 PM
aren't we all a little responsible for this?
Posted 25 Jun 2009, 3:16 PM
Pleaseeeeeeeeeeee every one is responsible for their own acts! Stop the drama.
Posted 25 Jun 2009, 3:40 PM
I don't know that there was "drama" in that statement, but I guess read into it what you will. I simply meant that here is a person who has clearly not been able to handle the pressures of fame (as many, many people are) for a very long time. And, "we" as a society, have some culpability there. By all accounts he had an overbearing father who was not afraid to exploit his children for monetary purposes. Insatiable media scrutiny beginning at an incredibly young age. Sad. There's certainly something to said for anonymity, huh? RIP Michael.
Posted 25 Jun 2009, 4:37 PM
Well said
Posted 25 Jun 2009, 3:39 PM
Yes. Fame killed him. He was weird, yes, but how could you not be weird when you're thrown into the public spotlight from a young age? God bless him, he's in a better place. He just couldn't last. He was one of the greatest, perhaps the greatest.
Posted 25 Jun 2009, 4:04 PM
Donny Osmond was as young and as much in the spotlight, and he is doing okay.
Posted 25 Jun 2009, 9:05 PM
Oh wow, please do not compare the levels of fame between Donny Osmond and Michael Jackson. He was internationally known almost his entire life. Little Donny had his moment in the sun. In America. And it was never shone down as bloody fiercely on him on his most fast days.
This one someone who's never bought a Michael Jackson record in his life! ha.
Posted 25 Jun 2009, 4:23 PM
are you for real he made his own choices ,the public didnt bleach his skin and perform 200 plastic surgeries he was pedophile .too many bad choices too many times, thats what kills him.
Posted 25 Jun 2009, 4:40 PM
Bleached his skin? That's like an "Old wive's tale"...
He had a skin condition...read about it...
Posted 25 Jun 2009, 4:55 PM
"Vitiligo - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Michael Jackson was diagnosed in 1986 with vitiligo and lupus; .... Diseases of the skin and subcutaneous tissue (integumentary system) (L, 680-709) ..."
HMMMM...1986...maybe before you were BORN?
Posted 25 Jun 2009, 5:08 PM
Thank you. Never knew that. Media had it to pills and chemicals.
That kind of sorts it out.
Posted 25 Jun 2009, 10:33 PM
i dont know if that was vitiligo, but even if it was. there were also the nose surgeries and the hair. he was obsessed with being white. he even "bought" white kids. i think maybe his father is responsible, but that's it. you cant blame that on other people. i think society is a bit responsible now with susan boyles and amy winehouses. but MJ problems came way before the internet, and tabloids and such. it was him who created a whole circus around him, building a thematic park just for him and sleeping with little children and changing the way he looks. he demanded to be called the king of pop, and was obsessed with himself. he could have retired anytime he wanted. but no, he wanted the money, or maybe the people around him did. it is not the general public's fault. he dangled a baby out of a window!!!! he slept with children on his bed!! i dont care how great he was over 20 years ago. i just hope someone decent takes care of these poor children that he left behind.
Posted 26 Jun 2009, 3:10 AM
You are wrong, what you said it not true, the truth is Michael is the greatest.
Posted 26 Jun 2009, 5:50 PM
I find it truly sad that people make statements like they are fact.
Your OPINION is one thing, but it really shows how judgemental people can be when they make statements that they really have no REAL knowledge about.
If you took the time to think about what it would be like to walk in anothers' (YOUR BROTHERS' AND SISTERS') shoes - BEFORE making such idiotic remarks - maybe you wouldn't be so judgemental.
Get off your high horse...(what will people say about you after YOU die?)
"he was obsessed with being white." THAT IS YOUR PERSPECTIVE...SAY SO
"..he even "bought" white kids." YOUR PROOF/REFERENCE?
"it was him[HE] who created a whole circus around him, building a thematic park..." WOULDN'T YOU BUILD A RETREAT IF YOU DIDN'T HAVE A CHILDHOOD AND COULDN'T GO OUT IN PUBLIC ANONYMOUSLY?
"he demanded to be called the king of pop... SAYS WHO? (AGAIN, WHERE IS YOUR PROOF/REFERENCE?)
...and was obsessed with himself". YOUR OPINION...(EXACTLY HOW MUCH TIME DID YOU SPEND WITH THE MAN, TO QUALIFY YOURSELF TO MAKE THIS STATEMENT?)
"he could have retired anytime he wanted. but no, he wanted the money, or maybe the people around him did." YOU ARE FAMILIAR WITH HIS FINANCIAL STATEMENTS, TOO?
"i dont care how great he was over 20 years ago." UMM, THAT WOULD BE 45+ YEARS (he started around the age of 6)
"i just hope someone decent takes care of these poor children that he left behind." AMEN TO THAT!
Posted 25 Jun 2009, 3:17 PM
Harsh.
Posted 25 Jun 2009, 3:28 PM
Well aren't you rude. Karma on you for saying such a horrible comment.
And it's quite a shame, first David Carradine and now Michael. Rest in peace you legends of fame.
Posted 25 Jun 2009, 3:47 PM
In Carradine's case it was highly disturbing that Thai police was willing to cover up a homicide as suicide. I won't travel there. That made me also reconsider ever going to other countries which have the same corrupt police structure.
It needed money, a famous forensic, and publicity to get the Thai responsibles moving.
That frightens more than the risk to get killed anywhere and under all circumstances, because the police becomes an associate to the criminal.
Posted 25 Jun 2009, 6:08 PM
Actually I've traveled to Thailand before, it's an incredible place. I myself would want a summer home or something there. Don't shun a place before you've been there yourself, seriously. And one detective found that Carradine's death was merely an accident [an extreme form of sexual pleasure that went wrong...].
But anyway! The point is the world is losing more legends as of late, I myself find it a bit odd... But even still, Michael Jackson will be fondly remembered.

In addition to the passing of Farrah Fawcett and the illness of Patrick Swayze hopefully this report is not correct
Posted 25 Jun 2009, 3:20 PM
My Dad always said they leave un in 3's.
Ed, Farrah, Now Michael. God bless and keep them all.
Posted 25 Jun 2009, 4:44 PM
Uh, that would be 4...David Carradine was the first..
So - WHAT happens in 4's?
...or are we going to experience another...2?
Posted 25 Jun 2009, 6:31 PM
There was also Danny Gans. I don't know if you'd consider him a "legend" though. He was just a Las Vegas comedian. But his death was rather surprising to the locals...
Posted 01 Jul 2009, 10:21 PM
Well,, there ya have it - the other 2:
Billy Mays and Karl Malden (although Mays was not a "great", so maybe another one to come...?)
Posted 25 Jun 2009, 3:20 PM
You can have his nasty glove. I want my songs back from that weirdo. It's a great day for young boys everywhere. Amen and good riddance.

IMPOSTOR OR NOT:
I'd need the business contact to Stella McCartney in person.
Who read my first comment from before will see that our life is about doing good work.
She does, too.
And that in business.
Please send me her email

The Paul McCartney that I know and love would
not have made that comment in a public forum.
Posted 25 Jun 2009, 4:20 PM
You are right in that. A later comment of the "impostor" shows that clearly. Pity that no one would know Stella's contact details.
I got an email for that: doctor_hyde@usa.com

Strange to us is the daily awareness of our own coming death.
It is better to be prepared for it. Jews, Christians, and Muslims are refraining the same allover the world:
THERE WILL BE JUDGMENT DAY, AND ONLY OUR GOOD DEEDS WILL KEEP US FROM ETERNAL PURGATORIUM [purgatory]. No money, no fame, only our deeds, and those deeds of our children and followers.
Atheists don't care about such issues, although there is abundant evidence for the correctness of the awaiting of our resurrection.
I liked Michael Jackson's music, sometimes tried to dance like he did, but I hope he recognized his falsity before passing away. That and God's mercy alone can save him, and make him one of the dwellers of paradise:
HE CAN SING THERE "I was bad.. "
Posted 25 Jun 2009, 3:27 PM
God save michael you are great artist. Sadness of Brasil...
Posted 25 Jun 2009, 3:28 PM
CNN and other news sorces have not confirmed this.... he was revived on the way to the hospital and his condition is unkown
Posted 25 Jun 2009, 3:29 PM
oh comeon..!!! according to cnn he is still in coma.. updated a minute ago..!!! not in any US news i can find him dead..!!!
Posted 25 Jun 2009, 3:30 PM
Hey this looks like the case of irresponsible reporting I have seen in a while. Look at MSN and Yahoo headlines “Michael Jackson Hospitalized.” This article has him dead and they are essentially running the same story as everyone else. There is however one major exception and that is read the last line of the article, “It’s unclear what he was being treated for or what his current condition may be.”
I would say that the writer is after HEADLINES how about some accurate reporting…In any event my prayers go with Michael and his family..
Posted 25 Jun 2009, 3:31 PM
Sorry, no sadness here. He had musical talent but no morals and bought his way out of more than one child molestation case. One less pedophile to worry about.
Posted 25 Jun 2009, 3:46 PM
death is completion of life, but he lives on
What of u, can u be remembered
Posted 25 Jun 2009, 3:34 PM
I will alway remember as a kid growing up in the 70's seeing the adults dancing to his music. Those were the good old days boy!
Posted 25 Jun 2009, 3:35 PM
If TMZ says he's dead, he's dead.
Posted 25 Jun 2009, 3:38 PM
Musically he was a genius... but there was something really wrong with him for a lot of years. You can't tell me he didn't have plastic surgery, or that he had some weird skin disorder that turned him completely white. I guess it affected his kids too.
Posted 25 Jun 2009, 3:39 PM
Umm, the LA Times confirmed it.
Posted 25 Jun 2009, 3:41 PM
was about time wasnt it?..
i mean this guy was out years ago.. now a new album and a tour..
what could be a better end??
and by the way... a sick bastard with more than enough money to treat an african country not doing anything but singing about the problems... and earning even more money in the process... .... ... (dont think about it, could ruin your worldview)

He use to be a great entertainer. But in his latter years, he lost his way. He became unstable person in his latter years. Noone should ever think it's alright to sleep in the same bed with youg boy's, he went mental somewhere in his life. I hope God has mercy on his soul,if it,s already not too late.

Posted 25 Jun 2009, 3:50 PM
Micheal Jackson is really a great star despite all and if really there could be a ransom for death to leave him his romantic and sensational musics is qualify for death to fall in love with with him and harm him not .
His two songs that he sang Speechless and Heal the world is a enough prices for death to spare him for now he will survive the state and he will leave to sing for his survival song.
I Guess his next music will be tittle "The Survival" and "Grace of God"
Micheal Jackson You will live by the grace of God and we are under the Grace of god already .

I was at Disneyland way back when. (right before the Jackson scandal happened) My family and I were waiting to go see "Captain EO". The Disney employee whose job it was to let us into the theatre asked the crowd "Who here likes Michael Jackson?!" The crowd remained silent and only my mother cheered. Some people even booed. (remember, this was BEFORE the scandal)
After the screening of Captain EO, everyone was exiting the theatre when who should appear but the Man himself>> Michael Jackson. He headed thru the crowd as they went INSANE! It was as if the Beatles and Elvis had suddenly made an appearance. People crying, swooning, screaming with joy, shouting "I just saw Michael Jackson!!"
It was at this moment that I understood the true nature of fame.
The same people who had remained silent or booed just 15 minutes before.
You tried so hard to please, Mr. Jackson, and you were accused of so much. I don't know what was true and what wasn't but I do know you have always had the benefit of the doubt and you have been one of the finest entertainers the world has ever known.

Posted 25 Jun 2009, 3:53 PM
This is a sad event but necessary. Micheal had turned into an oddity thus the longer he lived the more alien he would become to the rest of us.
The great ones simply cannot last because society turns on them for comic relief.
Micheal was a fantastic artist with many personal problems. I'm only sorry that he will be remembered as 'wacko-Jacko' instead of the brilliant artist he truly was.

My Dearest Michael,
If you still were here
May your spirit rest
Rejoice, your soul, is free
Blessed be and peace to you
Your glory is like the flowers of the field
Like roses will fall, their remembrance is forever
The lord is yours
I shall not want a past that now is lost
Silence and grief, my heart is lone
A wreath - my farewell
I rue you - grief bites hard
Tears now flow for you...
Amen.
Posted 25 Jun 2009, 4:08 PM
Ur short poem is good but you have used the similar which flower and roses they do not last but dies fast.
Micheal is not to be personified with such cause i do not love flowers really if not for the cause a "flower that smiles today dies tomorrow"
Posted 25 Jun 2009, 4:06 PM
I am still convinced that although he beat the child molestation charges he was guilty as sin. When you have that much money you can buy off anyone.
Ahhhh... Whatever

Hey everybody! It's me. Stop with all this commenting stuff. I'm okay. This was all a media hoax. I needed the publicity to kick off my new album you dummies. I'm not finished taking your money and charging $500 a seat for my fabulous concerts. Okay then, that said my album will be on sale at CDUniverse.com on July 14th. Buy it or I will stop breathing for real. I think I may be serious. And, hey McCartney, screw you. I paid for those crappy songs. Gotta go. By for now. XOXOXO Michael

1. Michael is finally at peace from all the persecution, scrutiny and harassment of this world.
2. His kids won't have to worry about this again.
RIP Jacko. I will miss the silk pajamas, surgical masks, glitter glove & crotch grabs. You were a prime example of what irresponsible parenting and global fame can do to a person.

Well, I think he was kind of their king, so it makes sense... It is such an odd, sad story, his life.
Fabulous quote from The Atlantic:
There are two things to say about him. He was a musical genius; and he was an abused child. By abuse, I do not mean sexual abuse; I mean he was used brutally and callously for money, and clearly imprisoned by a tyrannical father. He had no real childhood and spent much of his later life struggling to get one. He was spiritually and psychologically raped at a very early age - and never recovered. Watching him change his race, his age, and almost his gender, you saw a tortured soul seeking what the rest of us take for granted: a normal life.

Self awareness is the first step to make it better.
Posted 25 Jun 2009, 9:31 PM
As a youngster, I always thought I had a connection with Michael due to the fact we were born in the same hospital, lived in the same town etc...kids are stupid, I know. Bought the 45's, the album's (yes, VINYL, it's what the cool kids bought before plastic), and I even have "The Wiz". Geeze, did I love him when he was still black! Something happened to him along the way, though. Michael Jackson disappeared, a parody reappeared, and his mind never came back to reality. I think it's pretty damn sad that he died. Whatever else, try to remember there are three kids now without a father. He may have been a freak show, but he was the only freak show those kids of his knew. And now the mayhem will start - who gets the kids (and the money that should belong to them), who's going to get what from the estate, how many are going to come out of the wood work and sue for one thing or another...it's freaking sad.
