Enough is Enough

Will Someone Give Poor Henry Cavill a Break Already?

ActorHenr_JimS_57245386_400.jpgA while back, we noted that The Tudors actor Henry Cavill has spent his entire career being shortlisted, then ultimately passed over, for some of the biggest parts in Hollywood: Superman in a McG-helmed iteration of Superman Returns, James Bond in Casino Royale, the Caped Crusader in Batman Begins…hell, the poor guy was even author Stephanie Meyer’s first choice to play Edward in Twilight.

Well, guess what further indignity we can add to the list?

Today in THR, an article about the three finalists for mega-tentpole Green Lantern (Bradley Cooper, Ryan Reynolds, and Justin Timberlake) included this throwaway line:

Other actors in the early mix included Michael Fassbender, Henry Cavill and Jared Leto.

Seriously, this is getting cruel. Give this poor guy a freaking franchise already, before he spends the bulk of his Pretty Years taping screen tests for sadistic casting directors!

I'll give him a break!

i'll break him

Can't we just objectify him on these very pages, on a weekly basis, until the world takes notice?

No one's going to say it? OK, I guess it will have to be me.

He doesn't get naked enough in The Tudors. Seriously, we get his fantastic body in the first episode, and then nothing. At all. It's a travesty.

(Disclaimer: I have not actually watched The Tudors since the first season, JRM kills me in the worst possible way. I do know, however, that no new shirtless screencaps of any value have popped up on certain sites that I frequent, leading me to the above conclusion.)

He's a good looking guy who can't act and is charisma challenged. Essentially, he's a younger version of Casper Van Dien. There's always straight to DVD, just ask the Capper.

He was probably in the running for Perseus too, I guess we'll just have to watch Clash of the Titans without him.
