Bill Murray Ain't Afraid of No Ghostbusters 3

murray_posts.jpg· Confronted at the Fantastic Mr. Fox premiere about the likelihood of a much-rumored Ghostbusters sequel, Bill Murray said, “I don’t want to do it yet…Until there’s a good script, I’ll just stay home and play snooker.” Add Sigourney Weaver and a pool-cue-wielding Slimer, and I think we’ve got ourselves the film’s first set piece! Murray’s video response, after the jump:

· THR’s James Hibberd wonders whether Fox blundered horribly by moving the one-promising Fringe to Thursday night, where it’s getting its ass kicked in every conceivable multiverse.

· Survivor’s oft-incarcerated Richard Hatch is on the loose. Again.

· Jeff Wells is touting The Taking of Pelham 123 for one of this year’s Best Picture slots: “The idea in nominating ten is to promote and celebrate a movie or two that guys like Scott Foundas and Dennis Lim don’t approve of, right?”

· Bachelor and Dancing with the Stars alum Melissa Rycroft has swine flu. Will our country’s kitschiest celebrities ever be safe from this affliction?

Give Murray credit for not being a cash whore. I'm assuming without him (if a script ever does materialize) GB3 wouldn't have the same punch it needs.

It'd be like making St. Elmo's Fire 2 without Andrew McCarthy.

Well, sorta.

"Give Murray credit for not being a cash whore"

Ha. Except he mentioned himself in the interview Garfield and its sequel. :P

Nice to hear Murray dissing Ghostbusters 2. I can understand why he would want the script for a third movie watertight.

It's great to hear Murray talking like this.

This whole thing has disaster written all over it. Who wants to see the Ghostbusters passing the torch to a bunch of younger, shittier comedians?

If it's not brilliant like the first one is then don't do it.
