Shut-In Zach Galifianakis May Welcome Amy Adams to Town House

zach_robe_short.jpg· Zach Galifianakis is in talks to star in Town House, a comedy about an agoraphobic man shut inside the Boston residence he inherited from his rock-star father. Amy Adams is negotiating to play the call girl who befriends him. Ridley Scott is reportedly co-producing with his brother Tony, thus setting up an epic behind-the-scenes battle between the workaholic Galifianakis — for whom Town House would be the fifth film or TV series in development for 2010 — and Scott, who is likely just looking to bring his total of stalled projects to a nice, round 10. [Variety]

Adam Sandler goes both ways, January Jones’s agent cashes in, and more Hollywood Ink after the jump.

· Studios are cutting back these days, and thus Adam Sandler will play both title characters in Sony’s romantic comedy Jack and Jill. No plot details are known, but if you look back closely at Funny People, you’ll probably find a mock-up of this movie’s poster among the other humiliating career detritus in Sandler’s garage. [Variety]

· January Jones has committed to her second film project of the week, supplementing the Liam Neeson action-drama Unknown White Male with the previously reported Nicolas Cage action-drama The Hungry Rabbit Jumps. [THR]

· BIlly Bob Thornton has joined the cast of the action-thriller Faster as “Cop,” who must track a man named “Driver” (Dwayne Jonhson), who’s out to avenge the death of his “Brother.” A hit man named “Killer” has yet to be cast; Notorious helmer “George Tillman” is set to direct. [Variety]

· Amid all the Oscar chatter surrounding Precious’s Gabourey Sidibe, the young actress is now also in discussions to follow her breakout role playing another, more literate, less pregnant-with-her-father’s-baby student in Laura Linney’s pilot for Showtime, The C Word. [THR]
