Tracy Morgan Continues Giving Press to Cheri Oteri and Chris Kattan

tracy_kattan.jpgBack when Tracy Morgan’s literary broadsides against former SNL colleagues Chris Kattan and Cheri Oteri were first revealed, the world snapped to attention, but since then, Morgan’s dirt-rehashing buzz has been usurped by the ultra-candid Bronson Pinchot. Still, when Morgan appeared on Today this morning to promote his new book, host Matt Lauer pressed him on the allegations he’d made.

“We never had a relationship,” Morgan explained, elaborating on the perceived rift between him and the Kattan/Oteri duo. “I don’t have anything against anybody, but what happened happened…at any job, wherever you go, there are gonna be people that don’t get along, that don’t speak. It’s not that we didn’t get along, we just never got. It was none of that with them two. Everybody else, we were like family. That’s the nature of the business. Very competitive.”

From that quote alone, you might think Lauer was interviewing an unusually sedate, practiced Morgan. Never fear, he eventually gets his mojo going enough to loudly proclaim himself a “beautiful black butterfly” and start cracking up the cameramen. Here’s the clip:

Anton Corbijn’s The American looks and feels like a movie made by a filmmaker who hasn’t been to the movies since the ’70s — and I mean that as the highest compliment.
