Glitter Gate?: LambertKissQL.jpgABC is resorting to cold, hard numbers to prove that Adam Lambert’s crotch-grabbing, fellatio-simulating AMA performance should not launch a FCC investigation akin to 2004’s Nipplegate. The network reported earlier this afternoon that Lambert’s racy number received 1,500 phone complaints, a completely average number, while “a major PR disaster would normally prompt 15,000 to 20,000 complaints.” On the plus side, ABC says at least 100 people called to say they liked it. Maybe it's me, but I really didn't see what was so "racy" about Adam's performance. Sure he grinded some dancer's face into his crotch but haven't we all? I was more terrified that his hair and suit were channeling Max Headroom. If you had the resilience to make it through all of the AMA's you were already desensitized to crotch grabbing, pelvic thrusts, splayed legs, and general gyration to give a shit.

Didn't see nor care to the Adam Lambert thing but the Janet Jackson situation (can we please retire the phrase "['scandal']-gate" when this decade ends?) didn't really get any attention until some right-wing groups started ranting about it a day or two after the fact and was helped along by mass media pinheads themselves. I wonder how the same groups feel about Jonas/Miley Inc appropriating their chaste messages for fun and profit?
