The scary thing about Freddy's face was that it was wet and RAW. This dry fleshy thing looks like the makeup artist from Star Trek: Deep Space 9 got a new job, as well as the opportunity to offload some old Cardassian face pieces. And all for nothing, really, because Jackie Earle Haley is so good he could ACT a better face.

You realize that is a close up of a figurine of the new Freddy, right? That's not someone in makeup for the movie. It looks dry because it's a toy.
