TV Bites: Hello Again, Charlie

CharlieTV225.jpg· ABC is gambling on another ’80s remake by ordering a pilot for an updated Charlie’s Angels. Josh Friedman (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) will write and executive produce, alongside the original Angels producer, Leonard Goldberg, and Drew Barrymore. Sony Pictures, who tried unsuccessfully to revive the franchise for TV in 2004, will house the project. If ABC pays proper homage to the original Aaron Spelling series, tweens can finally stop crediting Cameron Diaz for the pointed finger gun pose. [USA Today]

An Arrested Development star scores a pilot, Hayden Panettiere explores the medical field and more TV Bites after the jump.

· Congratulations are in order for Hayden Panettiere, who is making her co-producing debut with the CW’s upcoming HMS, an hourlong drama about a group of students at Harvard Medical. The project, in development now, is being written by Mystic Pizza writer Amy Holden Jones. Annabeth Gish should also be available. [THR]

· Two clips from the Oprah-Sarah Palin sit down have surfaced, both monumentally disappointing compared to yesterday’s Oprah segment with the chimp attack victim. In the first, the former Alaska governor admits that even she was disappointed with her Katie Couric interview last year. In the second, Palin skirts the issue of whether Levi Johnston will be carving her turkey. [Reuters]

Lady GaGa is the Charo of the aughts! And I mean that as a compliment.

all that foil used for the gaga set piece just reminded me i have to get ready for thanksgiving.

I wouldn't buy Hayden Panettiere as a med student, let alone as a producer on a show about med students. I smell arbitrary credits!
