TV BITES
· Poor Aaron Carter, who shed real tears after his elimination on last night’s Dancing With the Stars episode, only to be upstaged by a possibly lip-synching Susan Boyle. The Scottish singing sensation and Kathy Geiss inspiration belted out “I Dream a Dream” before returning to her dressing room, where besotted contestant Donny Osmond brought her a bouquet of purple roses and shared a few tender moments: “She knew all of my songs…I sang a song to her and she sang it with me. It was really special.”
James Franco can outlast and out-memorize anyone in daytime, Murphy Brown makes the Hall of Fame and more TV Bites after the jump.
· Do not lose anymore sleep over Jeff Zucker’s fate at NBC in light of the impending Comcast-General Electric deal. The current NBC Universal CEO will head NBC’s new joint venture.
· In the latest Franco update, the performance artist filmed a mind-blowing 65 pages on his first day at General Hospital and “never forgot his lines.” The actor’s only request to the daytime soap was that “he play an artist who was ‘a little off’.” No word on whether the graffiti was an improvisational flourish.
· V’s record-setting premiere ratings fell 29% last night. CBS won the entire night with its solid Tuesday line-up: NCIS, NCIS: LA and Good Wife. Jay Leno’s ratings recovered from Monday night’s series low (1.15) with a 1.9 last night.
· The TV Hall of Fame will induct Candice Bergen, the Smothers Brothers and Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry in a January ceremony featuring legendary game show announcer Don Pardo. The Mark Gordon Reality Programming Wing is due to break ground next year.
· CW is trying to reignite the fire in its WB-UPN marriage by giving Smallville a two-hour Justice Society-themed movie event on January 29. The special will feature DC characters Stargirl, Hawkman and Dr. Fate on the grounds that the WB attends a month worth of relationship couseling.
· John Travolta appeared on his first talk show since his son’s tragic death last January. On Ellen yesterday, the star talked about his daughter’s role in his upcoming film Old Dogs and how he plays tennis “vampire-style.”

Susan was 100 pct singing so why put in 'possibly lip-synching'? Either you're an idiot or it's a pathetic attempt to make up something negative about a true lady and talent.

Susan Boyle is the biggest one-trick-pony in years. She has two songs that she ever performs, but mostly they just trot her out to sing "I Dreamed a Dream."

Frumpzilla will sing to you, and then she will devour your soul.

Vampire style? That means he SUCKS...

No lip-synching from Susan. Had to be filmed twice because of the male dancer's costume malfunction but she sang live both times. Beautiful performance by both Susan and the dancers. Once Susan's album is released, you'll see her singing a lot more different songs; I Dreamed a Dream was a good choice for the dance sequence.

I dream a dream that boyle will learn a new song.

I imagine they had her sing I Dreamed a Dream since it is the title of the album and the song that made YouTube history! Have you heard Susan Boyle's version of the Rolling Stones song Wild Horses? It is awesome!!! By the way, there was NO lip-synching by Susan. She has real talent and does not need to rely on such a tactic. Her new album, see SusanBoyleMusic.com, has a wide array of styles of music. Check it out under the Music tab! A new song, written just for her, called Who I Was Born to Be is also on this album.

LAZY "JOURNALISM"/ lIKE POSSIBLY LIPSINKING. Of course if you had stated it as a fact you would have been liable and could be sued. Cowards way, like a besotted Donny Osmond. What is that supposed to mean. To most of your readers I would say Drunk. For you people who don't like Susan's "one" song. Go to youtube and listen to cry me a river. Over 1 million have already..or Killing me softly or Wild Horses. What rock have you been living under?

Wow. Mention "Susan Boyle lip-synching" or "South Park = assholes" and their armies descend...
At least we know Movieline rates high on Google searches. Good work gang!

That one trick ponies CD has beaten pre-sale records at Amazon, the highest number in Amazon history.
Listen to her CD samples idiots who think she can only sing one song.

I think Susan Boyle's voice is amazingly beautiful. I think her story is even more incredible. The way she came out the other side from all of her trials in life is uplifting. While I wait for the movie of her life to be made, I found out that the TV Guide Channel is having an exclusive special on her December 13.
Here’s the official site of the special: http://www.tvguide.com/special/susan-boyle/
I can’t wait!
