What's with All the Actors Who Look Like Directors?

This is just a hunch, but I feel like Milo Ventimiglia would really, really like a part in Jason Reitman's upcoming adaptation of the Joyce Maynard novel Labor Day. How do I know? Because Ventimiglia just went out in public copping Reitman's signature beard and floppy, center-parted hair, and the resulting doppleganger made me a little more attracted to Jason Reitman than I'd like to admit. Still, good news, Milo: two other actors snagged upcoming films by uncannily resembling their directors.

The similarities between Leonardo DiCaprio and his Inception direction Christopher Nolan are so pronounced that we once jokingly speculated that the actor was actually playing the director in the film. Still, it's hard to deny that blond hair, those full cheeks, both widow's peaks, and those blue eyes. Give us DiCaprio's stand-in and stunt double, and we might have ourselves a full set.

It was impossible for journalists at Sundance not to notice that Ryan Gosling was a virtual dead ringer for his Blue Valentine director Derek Cianfrance. If you can't see it in the picture above, imagine the Goz with a receding hairline, some extra poundage and a fuller beard -- not only will you have Cianfrance, you'll have what Gosling looks like in the movie. (That, or Matt Morris.) When the director talks about how personal the film is to him, apparently, he's not kidding.

Got any others?
