Watch the Epic New Trailer for Transformers: Dark of the Moon

"Our entire space race of the 1960s was in response to an event," a bespectacled Frances McDormand ominously intones at the beginning of the theatrical trailer for Transformers: Dark of the Moon. What event is she referring to? Oh, just that time when a bunch of giant killer robots burrowed themselves under the surface of the moon, and awaited a signal from Earth to commence worldwide destruction. Click ahead to watch the crazy-pants madness.

Kudos to Michael Bay for allowing the dissonant horn blasts from Inception to make a cameo appearance.

Anyway, this looks awesome. Transformers: Dark of the Moon explodes into theaters (and IMAX) on July 1. Head over to Apple to watch in HD. (You should watch it in HD; just sayin'.)

  • The Winchester says:

Sorry, there's something about Shia LeBouf crying out "OPTIMUS" that detracts from the "awesome" points.

  • ZebedeeDooDah says:

Did the BWAAAMM sound effect remind anyone else of Inception's trailers?

  • CiscoMan says:

The 'splosions look epic, indeed. But please tell me there isn't some paper thin story about Shia plus 50 minutes of government officials arbitrarily trying to cover up the Transformers even though: 1) They already destroyed downtown Los Angeles and 2) They already destroyed the pyramids.
Seriously, why are there humans in these movies?

  • It reminded me of the Inception trailer... which is why I wrote that in the post.
