Ellie Kemper Moves to 21 Jump Street, and 5 Other Stories You'll Be Talking About Today

elliekemper-300.jpgAlso in this Tuesday edition of The Broadsheet: Joel Kinnaman is slowly becoming the next big thing... Jason Clarke gets key role in The Great Gatsby... The Dark Knight is somehow still casting... and more ahead.

· Ellie Kemper is having quite a summer thus far. Fresh off the success of Bridesmaids -- a success even if her character did unceremoniously disappear partway through the film -- Kemper has been added to the cast of 21 Jump Street. She'll play an "annoyingly sincere chemistry teacher" with a slightly inappropriate crush on the undercover cop-turned-high school student played by Channing Tatum. Jonah Hill co-wrote and stars in the action comedy. [Variety]

· Unless you watch The Killing on AMC, you might not know Joel Kinnaman, but that's probably about to change. In addition to co-starring in Safe House (with Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds) and The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, Kinnaman has joined the cast of Lola Versus opposite Movieline heroine Greta Gerwig. The indie romance -- from Breaking Upwards co-writers Daryl Wein and Zoe Lister Jones -- will follow a recently dumped young woman (Gerwig) looking to find herself before she hits 30. Kinnaman is set for the "major role" as Gerwig's heartbreaker -- a role that Orlando Bloom was originally discussed for. Debra Winger (!) and Bill Pullman co-star. Come out already, Lola Versus! [THR]

· Baz Luhrmann has hired Jason Clarke for The Great Gatsby. The former Chicago Code star is set to play auto mechanic George Wilson, who you may remember as a key figure in the source novel's finale. (No spoilers, but read the book already.) Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan, Tobey Maguire, Joel Edgerton and Isla Fisher star in the film, which is set to shoot in Australia this fall. [THR]

· The Dark Knight Rises is still casting! Josh Stewart -- best known for roles on the television shows Third Watch and No Ordinary Family -- will play an undisclosed character in the Christopher Nolan-directed threequel. Variety says that Stewart is the last actor to join Rises; fingers crossed that's the case. [Variety]

· Joel Silver will develop a live-action adaptation of the Cartoon Network series Ben 10 with the hopes of Warner Bros. distributing. The show is about a boy who can transform into ten alien creatures. [Variety]

· Charlie Sheen is apparently shopping a comedy series around Hollywood. If you have a few cases of Red Bull lying around and want to make an offer, give him a call. [Deadline]
