Harry Potter Author J.K. Rowling Sets Up Mysterious 'Pottermore' Website

Accio, intrigue! World-renowned Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling has said numerous times that she would never write another Harry Potter-related book -- and at least once that she would consider doing something else with the characters; thanks, Oprah -- which begs the question: Is her newly launched "Pottermore" website the start of future Hogwarts adventures?

Probably not? It's unclear what "Pottermore" exactly is right now -- the page itself only offers the vague promise that it's "Coming Soon" -- though fans are speculating that it could be anything from an online game to a Harry Potter encyclopedia to a massive theme park.

The "Pottermore" Twitter feed -- which already has 32,000 followers and counting -- doesn't offer much explanation either. There are two posts, with the latest directing fans to a YouTube page promising "J.K. Rowling's announcement" in six days.

Anyway, keep an eye on all this. Or embrace your inner Hermione and head to the Harry Potter message boards to do some sleuthing.

If J.K. is a good writer, why does she have nothing else to say? And it's not like she was saying much in the first place.

Her publisher has already come out to say that this does NOT involve a new book. However, if I were a betting man, I'd give her a year or so after the final movie juggernaut ends to announce she's starting a prequel book series about Harry's parents, Voldie, Dumbledore, etc. that eventually leads to the beginning of the Sorcerer's (Philosopher's) Stone.
